Camp Bay Beach is Roatán’s longest, most secluded natural white-sand beach, located on the undeveloped East End. It’s free of cruise-ship crowds and is backed by turquoise waters and a barrier reef. The last 7 miles of the road are rough dirt, but the tranquility is well worth the drive.  (*The road has since been paved most of the way, so it is easier to access*).

Key Details & Tips
Location:
The East End of Roatán, about a 45-60 minute drive from the Mahogany Bay cruise port and 1.5 hours from Coxen Hole.

Vibe:
Very quiet and off-the-beaten-path. It is one of the few places in Honduras to proudly fly the Ecological Blue Flag for clean waters and environmental care.

Facilities:
Unlike West Bay, there are almost no commercial beach resorts or public facilities here. However, there are a few local spots to grab food and a drink, most notably La Sirena de Camp Bay and Camp Bay Lodge. 
*Since publication, "Chelles Roatan" is operating nearby, as is "Paya Bay Restaurant".

There are 6-8 small local food choices to experience in Camp Bay and Diamond Rock, which you can discover when you move here or visit.

Things to Do:

Kitesurfing:
The breezy conditions on the East End make this an excellent spot for kiteboarding. You can take lessons or rent gear directly through Camp Bay Lodge.

Relaxing & Dining:
Most visitors enjoy hanging a hammock, walking the long stretches of sand, and eating fresh seafood at the beachfront restaurants.

Snorkeling Warning:
On Trip Advisor, community consensus notes that Camp Bay is generally not recommended for snorkeling due to windy conditions, cloudy water, and a far-out reef; you are better off relaxing or visiting other West End or West Bay spots for coral.
